LEITBILD ANGST
Four years after their last album ZEITGEIST WELTSCHMERZ, STILL PATIENT? release four new songs with the EP LEITBILD ANGST, which show how much the band knows how to refine their gothic rock with the right ingredients. The epic DOWNFALL PRAYER is just as multifaceted as the sung about topic of depression. The driving TREES FALLING is about saying goodbye to beloved and inspiring life companions, while SOUL REAPER delights with its danceability. With SINCE WHEN, the two long-time friends Andy Koa and Felix Stass from Crematory have finally fulfilled their wish of a joint song that powerfully questions our twisted world. LEITBILD ANGST is a convincing package and a good prelude to the next album, which is still scheduled for release in 2022. The EP was mixed and produced by Rolf Munkes at Empire Studios Bensheim/Germany.

Still Patient? belonged to one of the defining German bands of traditional gothic rock from its beginnings in 1988 and after five releases until its dissolution in 1999.

In 2012, Still Patient? reformed and continues to write the history that left its mark in the 90s.

Without losing sight of the past, SP? recreates itself, ports itself into the here and now and sounds fresher and more powerful than ever.

HISTORY

1988

Still Patient? was formed in the beginning of 1988 by lead singer Andy Koa and guitarist Th.Kraniny. Their joint love of gothic rock bands such as The Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim and The Mission influenced their first steps in music.

1990

Christian Ogrinz joined the band and some of the songs which appeared on their initial demo tape and later on their first album were written. From the beginning the band chooses to use a drum machine rather than a live drummer.

Later that year Christian parted company with the band to concentrate on his own projects and BecKes took over his guitar duties. Hedge Kaluza also joined the ranks on keyboards and Still Patient? played their first live shows (with Deine Lakaien and Das Ich).

After a few more live dates were under their belts the band compiled their first demo tape.

1992

In 1992 they signed to Hyperium and the first album Salamand was released.

1994

The second album Cataclysm was also released on Hyperium.

1996

In 1996 Alice in... signed Still Patient? and published the limited Chameleon EP, however the proposed new studio album never got further than the demo tape stage. The recorded material did eventually see the light of day on the Nightmare Arrival album which mainly consisted of some home recordings and exclusive material. The album featured the track Shadow of the Empire which was used on the soundtrack of the computer game Battle Isle III - Shadow of the Emperor by Blue Byte. A specially produced video can also be found here.

In the following years Still Patient? appeared on numerous European festivals such as the Wave Gotik Treffen (1996 and 1999), the Sacrosanct Festival in London (1996 and 1997).

They toured in Germany with Soul in Isolation and The Tors of Dartmoor and also played some festivals in Italy (Genoa and Rome).

1998

In 1998 Still Patient? started work on their (final) studio album Demondive. At this point bassist AX of Minus Men joined the band on Bass Guitar.

1999

Demondive was released in June 1999 by Schwarzrock. The band again played at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig before their last live performance at the end of 1999 on a festival line-up which included Crematory and Saxon among others.

Shortly after that Still Patient? disbanded. Andy Koa formed the bands Anodyne-29 and Burnsafe, Hedge Kaluza started the project Datasushi and Bec Kes  joined Boiling Blood. Hedge Kaluza and Bec Kes were also guest musicians in the Surround Pop Movie Polyradah by the German electro-band No Comment in 2008.

2012
Still Patient? starts with three new Members and rerecorded their Track Mascara Osiris from 1992 Album Salamand.

2013
After a handful of new Songs have been written, the Band prepares to be back on stage. Just before their first appearance on Stage again at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen, after 14 years, long term member Hedge Kaluza decided to leave the band due lack of time. Jörg, who joined the Band at their reunion as the first time real Drummer in the band history, also left the band.

In autumn 2013 Still Patient? recorded a 5-Track EP at the Kohlekeller Studio in Germany, which contains 4 brand new Songs and 1 Song from their first release Salamand  from 1992.

2014
The EP Selective Perception was released on January 31st in 2014.

At the same time the Band released the best of compilation Retrospective-88.2.99 with digitally remastered and some exclusive Material from the first 4 Releases which aren't available anymore.

2015

In 2015 the Album Shape Shifters was released including the re-recorded version of  Mascara Osiris as Bonus track which was recorded in 2012 exclusively for a compilation.

2017
In the late 2017 the band returned to the Kohlekeller Studio to mix the new Album Zeitgeist Weltschmerz which includes a tribute Version of Schwefel's Metropolis. The Song features Horacz Bluminth, who was the Saxophone player on the original recording in 1987.

2018
The Album Zeitgeist Weltschmerz was released.

2020

The Pandemic forced the band to slow down, but as soon it was possible to meet again, they started to work on new songs.

2022
The 4-track EP Leitbild Angst is released digitally in April.
